Reactions to Getting Shots This Afternoon...

With the birth of Lowa and Whittaker, it was obvious that God had created two VERY different little children - that's the precursor to this story...

Today Abraham has his 1 year check-up and to try and save time, energy, and gas I scheduled them all to get their flu shots at this time as well. I wanted to prepare Lowa and Whittaker beforehand, so I informed them that they would be getting shots today. Here are their VERY different reactions below.

Lowa cracks me up because she is so dramatic and over the top (gee I wonder where she got that?)! Do you notice how when I asked if she thought it would help her to not get sick, she responded with a yes at first, abruptly followed by a NO! I had to laugh. I love the end where she pulls herself out of it by saying, "I want to see the video." This girl is all drama - love it - well most of the time :)!

Whittaker is in this hilarious stage of talking in this adorable, oh wait - I mean annoying high pitched voice :)!! His reaction cracks me up because it is SOOO him! Even when he was a baby he would only cry if he got more than 4 vaccines at a time. Usually he would just look at the nurse as though she were some mad woman for sticking this needle into him. He doesn't seem to mind shots too much. Lowa on the other hand - well, I'm sure you can guess - tears streaming, wailing and all sorts of other drama going on. It's going to be fun with all three getting shots today. Pray for me :)!!

I just had to throw this one in. Abraham is starting to walk holding onto his little walker - it is SOOO cute! He usually takes more steps than this, but he thought the camera was much more interesting. I love that kid - I love all of them for that matter. Hope everyone has a super day!

Photo Tagged...

I've been Photo tagged by my friends Suzi and Dawn! I'm supposed to get the 4th photo out of the 4th file on my computer and tell about it...

This is Tom mountain biking (not the best quality or in-focus picture ever, but it's what I had to pick :) )! Tom LOVES doing physical activities, and one of them is mountain biking. Going up the hills is not his favorite part, but going off of big, small, medium (pretty much any size) jumps IS his favorite part! This picture was from over 4 years ago (before we had children - seems like so long ago). We hiked up together (I walked, he rode). Then I walked ahead on the trail and got pictures of him going off of jumps, riding ladders (they look like rickety bridges made out of a bunch of logs nailed together - sometimes on the ground, sometimes off the ground) and doing all sorts of other "cool" things on his bike. He used to be able to ride more, but having three children can put a cramp in your style :)!

I'm tagging...

"Do Your Kids Get Along?"

This is a question that comes up for me ALL of the time! It's a great question, and I'm happy to answer...

YES - my kids get along beautifully :)! Lowa and Whittaker have a serious advantage in that they are twins. They have never known life without each other. They really are best friends. They play together all of the time and thoroughly enjoy each other's company. The other afternoon Whittaker woke up from nap and was pretty distraught and unsettled because Lowa was still sleeping. He kept asking me if he could go wake her up. Once she woke up (on her own - I'm not crazy - let a sleeping girl sleep :) ), it was like he was a different child!

Lowa and Whittaker are also WONDERFUL with Abraham. Now don't get me wrong, they get plenty annoyed with him (and each other for that matter), but overall they are have great attitudes with him. They let him join them in their pretend play games and when he's upset or crying they will come over and try to soothe him. When he's wailing - they usually cover their ears :)! Whitt isn't a huge fan of having Abraham grab him and pull on him, but that's his only real "issue." They all love to wrestle and try to make each other laugh. It is super adorable! Randomly they will say to one another, "Lowa, Whitt or Abraham - I love you." That melts my heart. What an incredible thing to hear your kids tell one another that they love each other without even having to ask!

My kids are amazing and I am daily reminded how blessed I am by God to have these children in my life! They are each uniquely and wonderfully created! Take time today to remember just how blessed you are by your children!

Hair and Animals

Halloween was a great time as usual. Our tradition is to go down to our best friends' house, eat chili and then go trick-or-treating! The kids had a blast and we had the chance to hang out with our buddies. Here are a few pics...
